She is a western trained medical doctor who combines modern western diagnostic skills with the ancient treatment techniques of acupuncture and hypnosis.
Acupuncture originated in China two to four thousand years ago; hypnosis has its origin in ancient Greece. These treatments have been modernised and updated and are even more relevant today to complement the chemicals and drugs of modern healthcare and to provide balance to modern lifestyles.
Many of us have minor health problems that can become unbearable when not suitably controlled. A few of us have more major and sometimes long term health problems that are constantly draining us.
Whilst modern medicine is wonderful and has many answers, acupuncture and hypnotherapy are pleasant and effective therapies which can make lives so much more comfortable.
They are additional and complementary to modern, scientific, drug orientated, conventional medicine. Dr Brougham is a skilled, qualified, specialist doctor who uses these therapies to improve the quality of life for her patients.
Dr Brougham offers general medical services in a private General Practice. Treatments are usually acupuncture and/or hypnosis.
Acupuncture treatments are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine theory and include Western style acupuncture. The needles are individually packaged, pre-sterilised and single use only. Needles are disposed of according to health and safety guidelines.
Hypnosis treatments are personalised and psychologically orientated for each individual patient.
Dr Brougham qualified in Medicine in 1976 and worked for the NHS for many years in hospitals and General Practice. She combined many aspects of complementary medicine into her work as a GP whilst working in UK and other countries.
Dr Brougham developed and refined her acupuncture skills whilst training and working in China. She continued training and developing the practice in Sutton and Cheam and gained a Master’s degree in hypnosis.
Dr Brougham has lectured and mentored in acupuncture and hypnosis to the medical and allied professions. Continuing professional development is a very important part of Dr Brougham’s practice.
